If you don’t find your answer below, feel free to ring or email me and I’ll get straight back to you.

At Surface Magician, I strive to deliver the best repairs for all my customers. To keep costs down, I provide estimates based on pictures sent via WhatsApp or email. This eliminates the need for an in-person inspection, saving you from additional travel-related expenses. If you are happy with the estimate I try as hard as possible to keep to it – if I think it’s going to take longer than the damage in the pictures, I will always ensure you know any difference before I start any work.

The standard I uphold is simple: “A visitor to your home shouldn’t notice the damage or the repair.” Customers often inspect the work closely and, more often than not, find it hard to spot the repairs. While I can’t promise absolute perfection, I always do my best to blend the repair seamlessly so it’s unnoticeable in daily life. Most customers stop noticing the repair after just a few days.

  • For damaged pottery, I use a bespoke bath paint specifically designed for bath and sink repairs. Once the repair cures, the paint adapts to the natural expansion and contraction caused by hot and cold water, giving you several more years of reliable service.

    To maintain the finish:

    • Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or abrasive cleaners such as Cif Cream, as they may affect the repair.

    • Spray or natural cleaners are excellent alternatives and work well with repaired surfaces.

  • For door and window frame resprays, I use top-quality coatings to ensure durability and a great finish. Even under ideal conditions, the paint requires a couple of days to fully cure and harden. Please handle the treated areas with care for at least 48 hours to achieve the best results.

  • Most of my repairs are coated with a high-quality, hard-wearing finish to protect them. Before I leave, I’ll provide guidance on how long you should let the repair cure fully. As a general rule, we recommend being cautious around the repaired area for at least 24 hours after completion.

  • All repairs come with a 12-month guarantee, though with proper care, they should last much longer. If you experience any issues during the guarantee period, I’ll happily return to address the problem and ensure the repair meets your expectations.
